  Despite advertising late checkouts on the main reception, not only are these unavailable, but there is no courtesy room either, so make sure you get an early flight home or you will be showering by the pool and dressing in the toilets!

  There are 2 further sun decks on the 6th & 9th floors. The 6th floor deck is a nice quiet place with plenty of loungers & comfy chairs as well as a Jacuzzi. It has a great view out to sea wi t h the lighthouse in the distance. The 9th floor is similar but busier as it has the cocktail bar. This bar could do with having 2 waiters at busier times. The queues are occasionally quite long here.

  Thank you to all of the staff at Labranda Cactus Garden for making our stay an enjoyable one. Even though you will have an all-inclusive package here, try and spend one evening at the sea front in Morro Jable, where delicious local food can be found at very reasonable prices. We look forward to returning again.

  A good first impression BUT, for a new hotel, many things need attention. There is a distinct lack of vegetarian options and food generally is extremely repetitive. Frequently there is a lack of laid tables, crockery, cutlery etc in the restaurant. The jacuzzi on the rooftop didn't work for the duration of our stay despite workmen half heartedly attempting to fix this. The jacuzzi on the lower roof works, but then there is a walk up 2 flights up or 7 flights down to the bar to get a drink. There are 2 lifts, but there is always a wait for these.

  The main restaurant is behind the lobby area. The seating is quite tight with an overspill area outside & adjacent to the lobby bar. The staff work incredibly hard here & greet you with a smile on entry. They do a great job keeping the area clear & clearing tables.

  The rooms are bright and clean and so they should be since the hotel has only been open for 7 weeks. The air con is poor. Even on the coldest setting and maximum fan, cold air only trickles out. The shower is good and the cleaners are great.

  Free & strong WiFi in most areas - simple sign in when it drops. 3 bars, no wait g for service: 2 pools, 2 rooftop jacuzzis. Main pool is VERY cold - no ladies doing Aguagym after day 2!

  The hotel has 150 rooms, most have an outside balcony but some of the standard rooms have an internal facing terrace. Not an ideal place to sit but we noticed people smoking or hanging beach towels in their terraces. There is a nice freshwater pool with 3 lounger decks around it. The deck furthest from the pool has some games tables in it & needs a few more umbrellas as it does get hot. The pool is probably a little small for the size of the hotel but with the fabulous beach a short walk away, we never found this an issue.

  The hotel staff really shine at the Cactus Garden. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hola! The reception staff are great with Patricia standing out for her enthusiasm. The bar staff were all very friendly & at times were working under a lot of pressure. Only one lady at the pool bar was was a little grumpy but nothing too stressful.

  No British channels worked on the TV (no sound), so CNN was the best bet. The only music channel is Russian.

  The food is all-inclusive & we found the food to be very good. There is a lot of variety, show cooking areas & the food was replenished well. There was always a choice of rices, meats, fish & vegetables. Pizza was freshly cooked from a pizza oven & pasta was cooked to order. Overall, we were impressed by the quality of the food. There is a drinks station for wine, beer & soft drinks. The beer is difficult to pour as it is very frothy but it did seem to improve as the week went on. Larger beer glasses arrived midway through our stay, which was welcome.

  Things that need to improve include the wifi reception in the guest rooms, quality of the wine on offer & more local cheese at the buffet would be nice. We found the hotel very receptive with suggestions & there were improvements during our stay. I like that they are prepared to listen to their guests & make things better.

  The Cactus Garden hotel by Labranda is a brand new facility a short distance room Morro Jable at the southern end of Fuerteventura. The walls are all whitewashed in contrast to most of the surrounding buildings, which are mostly ochre. This certainly makes the building stand out with its light blue glass. We spent 5 nights all inclusive here and really enjoyed our stay. We had a junior suite & the roo was spacious with a balcony & separate seating area the other side of the bathroom, which is located centrally in the room. The room was very clean with very comfortable beds but not so comfortable pillows for my taste. There is a small table & chairs on the balcony. There is a large TV on the wall opposite the bed with a console/desk underneath & a fridge to the side. There are large high res pictures on the wall of beach scenes & cactus flowers.
